Easy Red Lips

Tired of wishing you could just wear red lips already one night without them looking like a nightmare by the time you get to your event or party?  I seriously think one of the hardest makeup looks to pull off is a red lip.  For some reason red bleeds easily on the lip line area and never seems to last long on me.  But low and behold, I have discovered a few secrets to make it work and I know it will work on you too!

How To Get Them!

1.  Apply lip balm and let it set in well and then use concealer around the outer edges of lips and on the lip area and blend it in really well.  This will act as a primer and base to prevent feathering.  Any concealer will do, but make sure it is creamy in texture.  

2.  Use a loose powder or a pressed powder over that and blend it in well.  I use a foundation brush for this step to really set it in well and make it look natural.

3.  Apply lipliner on outer edge of lips and on the entire lip area and then use a lip brush to apply red lipstick over that.  Blot with tissue really well and apply more red lipstick with lip brush one more time and blot with tissue one more time.

4.  Find a matte eyeshadow in a reddish shade and use a very firm eyeshadow brush to press and smooth that on top of your lipstick for one final coat of color.  I know this is a bit much, but it seriously works.  I have the hardest time with lipsticks staying on.
