Awesome Layered Fall Looks!

There is nothing I love more than layering outfits for cooler weather!  It is not easy to do though if you haven't got a clue on how to do it fashionably, without looking too bulky.  Here are some great Fall 2012 looks to give you some ideas on how to layer properly and they are wear-able runway looks, which are where I get a lot of my own everyday inspiration from!  Enjoy!

Karizas

Hanging out in a Kariza is one of the comfiest things to do actually.  I had to wear these for one of my old jobs and I truly fell in love with my skirt that I can wear pretty much 100 different ways!  Yep, these gorgeous skirts can be worn so many ways that it is ridiculous and since I love versatile clothing, this is on the top of my list of things you should have!  I found another version of my Kariza at Magic Wrap online today and you can check out the knock off versions (HERE)!  You will see all the fun prints and colors and see how many different looks you can get out of just one piece of clothing! These skirts are perfect for pregnant ladies, ladies who may have gained some weight and would like to cover up, or for fashionistas that love to figure out how to make anything look amazing!!!  Read below for some simple style tips on this look!

Dress:  Kariza  /  Vest:  Forever 21  /  Belt:  Wet Seal  /  Shoes:  DSW  /  Ring:  In Pink  /  Earrings:  Dillards  /  Bag:  DSW

Quick Tips On This Look:

1.  For a chic and modern look, try adding a belt either with studs to this or a wider belt to give it some sass and edge.  I wanted to go with a more boho style, so I wore my braided belt and faux fur vest for Pre-Fall weather!

2.  The basic way to wear this skirt is to just tie it around your waist and wear a tank top or camisole for a beach-y look!  These do give off a Hawaii kind of vibe, when worn like this and that is what my old job was going for when we had to wear these for work!

3.  Wear these with a cropped jacket, military jacket for Fall or alone for Summer!  These are literally so comfortable, I guarantee you will want to buy more than 1!

Hope you have a great weekend, and thank you so much for reading today!!

Denim Dress

There is nothing very special about this outfit, but I wanted to wear it one last time before the end of Summer.  It was a very inexpensive purchase from Ross I believe and it came with the most hideous self-attached patent leather black wide belt, that had to go!  I replaced it with a cognac colored braided belt to give this instead for a nice and casual look.  I love the light-weight material of this dress so much and it matches my YSL look-alike shoes that I am obsessed with!  Read below for some simple style tips on this look!

Dress:  Ross  /  Belt:  Wet Seal  /  Shoes:  BCBG Generation  /  Necklace:  My own Design
Bag:  DSW

Quick Tips On This Look:

1.  Cheap Dresses-  Cheap does come with drawbacks, such as this dress is poorly made and goes so low in the chest and gets weighed down as soon as you add a belt because the waist line is way too high up for the style.  So, when buying for a sale or for the cheapest you can get at Ross, beware that the fit won't work that well on you.  You must figure out how to come up with solutions to make the outfit work!  My solution was to just add a cami underneath and switch the awful belt it came with to one that I thought worked better!  Solution solved!

2.  High Quality Shoes-  I can't emphasize enough how important it is to wear expensive shoes or good quality shoes with poorer quality clothing.  It creates balance, and if you wear poor quality shoes or a handbag with a bad quality dress or attire, you will not look polished.  There is no reason anyone has to be decked out in high end designer clothing everyday, and nor do I believe you have to spend a ton of money to look great, but you have to find the proper balance in an outfit to walk out the door and look your best!  Invest in great handbags and some great quality shoes for outfits that cost next to nothing and you will look polished!

Hope you all have a wonderful day and thank you so much for reading today!

Transition Your Summer Skirts For Pre-Fall!

I just love when Fall approaches!  Lately the Summer weather has been cooling down a bit and I can almost smell Fall coming in the air and it makes me very happy!  I can still remember the first days of school and how nervous I used to get when early September rolls around and sometimes I miss those days of being a kid with no worries.  Oh, the good old days, but back to fashion... Today, I wanted to put together an early Fall look that uses one of my favorite skirts I also wear in the Summer!  Read below for some simple tips on this look!

Shirt:  Express  /  Vest:  Charlotte Russe  /  Skirt:  Target  /  Belt:  Coach  /  Shoes:  Steve Madden  /  Bag:  Maurizio Taiuti

Quick Tips On How To Wear This Look:

1.  White Button downs - These are the greatest addition to a summery skirt, because they have long sleeves and with Pre-Fall weather, it can be a lot cooler during the daytime.  Buttoned all the way to the top gives you a polished and chic look and you can wear a cool statement necklace if you are into those.

2.  Vests -  If you like vests, I highly recommend to buy any and all that you see that you fall in love with!  Why?  Because they are the ultimate layering item for Fall/Winter and you can put them over anything!  Belt them like above if you want a nice hourglass shape, but you can also wear it un-belted above too if you want a more bohemian feel and a not trying-to-hard kind of look.

3.  Shoes - When the weather is still a cross between warm and cooler, you can still wear your wedge open toe shoes from Summer, but if you are facing weather in the early 60, a nice tight will be great to wear too with your open toe wedges for now until you are ready to pull out those boots!

Hope these tips will help you transition from Summer to Pre-Fall weather that will be here in a few short weeks!  Don't forget to check out MONT AFFAIR, by clicking here or on the side bar on the banner to visit one of my new favorite online retailers!  They are having a HUGE SALE going on until September 21st!  Details are below!  Happy Shopping and have a great day!

All Black With Pop Of Color!

Recently, I did a post on wearing all white for Summer (HERE), but we can't forget about all black too!  Wearing all black is tricky with the hot weather, but if you get a cooler day or nice evening, you can definitely wear all black!  !  Read below for some simple tips on this look!

Shirt:  New York & Co.  /  Shorts:  Wet Seal  /  Shoes:  BCBG Girls  /  Clutch:  Charles David  /  Belt:  Nine West  /  Necklace:  Ice To Diamonds (HERE)

QUICK TIPS ON THIS LOOK!

1.  Keep the look tailored with well-fitted clothing for a chic and sophisticated look, or wear a looser off the shoulder longer top and some black skinny jeans for a casual yet sexy look!

2.  Adding a colorful statement necklace is a huge must for an all black look and you want to wear a color that will really stand out against the black.  A belt is always great too to break up the top and bottom halves and create some shape!

3.  When wearing short-shorts, I believe that the choice of shoe is crucial because you don't want to leave the house looking like you are working the streets!  ;)  So, my rule on this is as long as you are completely covered up on top (buttoned up shirt all the way or short sleeves and scoop neck), you can get away with wearing a pump with a heel, or high wedge or platform heel that is 4" or higher.  If you are showing skin up top (such as a low neckline or wearing spaghetti straps, wearing a flat or kitten heel that is maximum of 2 inches high is a bit more appropriate.

High-Low Dresses

High-low tops and dresses have been very in style over the past year, and I have been eyeing up all of these gorgeous dresses from my favorite online shops for the past few months and wondering if I will ever add one to my closet or not.  See my favorite Emerald green dress at the moment, that is perfect for Fall and can be worn with a leather jacket HERE!  Besides drooling over dresses online that I want, I actually discovered I have a high-low dress in my closet already that I have completely forgot about!!!  I am beyond excited because I have had this dress since 2004 and actually forgot about it, and can now wear it like it is brand new!  See my simple style tips below for ways to wear the high-low dress!

Dress:  Wetseal  /  Shoes:  Via Spiga  /   Bag:  Coach  /  Bracelet:  Express  /  Ring:  The Icing

QUICK TIPS ON WEARING HIGH/LOW DRESSES!

1.  For shorter length high-low (starts above the knee in front), you can really wear that dress through the Fall with a leather jacket and platforms and tights if you like.  For longer length dresses like mine, it is best to leave it as is and wear it in the Summer like I will.  Mine is also slightly borderline dressy.  I wore this to a formal party one year and it looked nice because it has a ruffle on the bottom layer of dress hem.

2.  I find that shoes with ankle straps tend to look best with these dresses, so pull out your platforms with a nice ankle strap and you will look perfect!

Thanks so much for stopping by and for reading!  I hope that you have a wonderful day!!!

All White In Summer and New Ring!

Happy Monday all!  I have been seeing a lot of white looks lately and I think before Summer ends soon, I needed to pull out some of my whites and get cracking on this outfit post!  I love adding a bit of print to an all white outfit, so I pulled my favorite leopard print scarf from the closet and figured it would be a nice touch!  I'm also super excited because I won some free jewelry last week from a company called IN PINK!!!, and I am so happy with my items I won, that I wanted to share with you the site!  Their jewelry is very affordable, and this is coming from a Jewelry Designer myself, so you know that I am being honest with you!  I was hesitant to see what my ring would look like in person, because it was only $16, but I love it and am happy with my selection!  I needed a white cocktail ring and this is perfect for dressing up and for casual looks like below!  Read below for some simple style tips on wearing all white!!!

Shirt:  Juicy Couture  /  Skirt:  Old Navy  /  Shoes:  Lucky Brand  /  Scarf:  Nicole Miller  /  Bag:  Nina Ricci Vintage  /  Ring:  IN PINK (HERE)!!!

QUICK TIPS ON THIS LOOK:

1.  All white doesn't have to be plain.  Wear a shirt with some print like above, or add a black belt even.  I decided to add a printed scarf and a tee with some words on it.  If you want to wear all white, then add a very bold accessory with color, such as a statement necklace, or lots of stacked bracelets for attention!

2.  Never wear a white shoe with an all white look!  Please wear either a black or nude shoe, or even a bold color, such as neon!  But, DO NOT wear an all white shoe unless of course you are getting married!  Then by all means, go ahead you gorgeous bride!!!!  :)

Thanks so much for reading today and I hope you have a great Monday!!!

Free Peplums, Anyone?

I have to admit, that I am quite obsessed with peplums this Spring and Summer, yet I only really have one that is hanging in my closet.  I don't like wearing it because it has to go to the dreadful "dry cleaners"!  Ugh... but, I did decide that I had one shirt in my closet that I could turn into a peplum in a cinch (literally)! The fit of my shirt is not great on me at all.  It is a high-low shirt that is not too low in the back at all, but is very wide.  So, I decided to belt it and make it a fake peplum.  Yep, I'm sure you have seen others doing this, but I'm here to show you today how big of a difference this actually makes!  Seriously... you won't be wasting your money online anymore girls!  All you need is a shorter length shirt of any kind and a belt that is not too wide or not too skinny for this look!  Read below for some simple tips on how to wear this look!

Dress:  Francesca's  /  Shirt:  Marshall's  /  Shoes:  Via Spiga  /  Earrings:  Dillard's  /  Bag:  Stone Mountain

Quick Tips On How To Wear This Look!

1.  Dress or skirt-  Use a dress like I did here or a skirt that is a bit looser for this look.  Mine is empire waisted, and has a t-strap back.  Not sure why I got this dress to be honest, but it is one of those impulse buys where you wish you had just waited to buy your ultimate favorite cotton dress for summer!  My shirt just so happens to cover up this t-strap style in the back perfectly, so I thought it would go well together.  A circle skirt or flared a-line skirt would not work well with this look because my top is looser by nature to begin with.  Also, wearing a pencil skirt would be a great choice for this look as well when using a bigger fitting top!

2.  Shirt-  You can pretty much take any shirt in your closet that is a baggier fit and is hip level to do this.  This can be like the kind of shirt I have on, or it can be a sweater, or even a tee if you like.  The cinching of the belt will create the peplum for you on the bottom if you make sure the shirt is baggy enough.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and for reading!  I hope you are having a great day so far!
